ROCK OTOČEC, the biggest Open-Air-Festival in Slovenia
Rock Otočec is a music festival, traditionally held at an idyllic spot next to the Otočec castle at the castle bathing spot of the river Krka. Otočec (meaning island in Slovenian) is located just out of the town Novo mesto, which lies half way between the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, and that of Croatia, Zagreb (70 km distance from both cities). The festival attracts between 4 and 8 thousand visitors daily. It has hosted well-known music artists in the past years, among them: Fun Lovin Criminals, Living Colour, Asian Dub Foundation, Henry Rollins, Dog Eat Dog, Liquido, The Toasters, H-Blockx, Emil Bulls, Primal Fear, Fishbone, Stereo MC's, Fundamental, Apocalyptica,
Chumbawamba … Yet more than music this festival is marked by the numerous and varied activities of its daily programme. Street theatre performances, creative workshops in different skills, clowns, jongleurs, and many more give the Festival its distinguishing note, all being topped by the unique games and joys in the mud-pool, especially the Miss and Mister Mud selections, Rock Otočec Model competition and Football Matches. A bier at one of the Festivals' many bars sells at 1.67 Euro (1/2 litre), respectively.

OPEN CALL TO BENDS FOR INTERNATIONAL PRE-SELECTION FESTIVAL:
FOR ROCK OTOČEC 2007
MC Patriot Slovenia, inviting young not well known bends to submit application on international pre-selection festival 4 Rock Otočec 2007, which will take place in Slovenia, Italy, Croatioa, Hungary and in Austria.
Festival is organized by MC Patriot in cooperation with Rock Otočec d.o.o. and local organizers in Slovenia, Austria, Italy, Croatia and Hungary.
Organizer of the biggest Slovenian rock festival Rock Otočec (www.rock-otocec.com) with the aim to support young unknown bends even more, decided to extend rock otočec festival from 3 on 4 days and the first day – Thursday 5th of July in overall dedicate to the finals of pre-selection festival For Rock Otočec 2007.
Rules of pre-selection festival:
1. Music bends have to make application at international organizer of pre-selection festival: MC Patriot, Žička cesta 4a, 3210 Slovenske Konjice, Slovenia. Deadline for applying is 15th of February 2007.
2. Locations of local and national organizers of pre-selection festival will be announced at least on 1st of February 2007.
3. 13 finalists from Slovenian and 1 from each cooperation country (Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia) will have opportunity to play on big stage of Rock Otočec on 5th of July 2007.
First 3 bends will get financial awards:
1.place 1000 €
2.place 500 €
3.place 300 €
4. Musicians who will play on Rock Otočec will get 4 day VIP ticket for Rock Otočec 2007.
5. Local pre-selections in each involved country will take place from 20th of February to 30th of March 2007.
6. National finals of pre-selction will take place from 1st of April to 30th of May 2007.
7. International final selection will take place on 5th of July 2007 on Rock Otočec festival in Slovenia.
8. In application bends have to send:
- Information’s about the bend (address, e-mail address, name of contact person, mobile phone number),
- 3 recorded authorial songs on CD,
- Short presentation of the bend,
- At least one digital photo of the bend on CD.

9. Deadline for applications: 15th of February 2007.
Music bends have to send also confirmation of application on e-mail address: info@mcdd.si. In confirmation bends have to write down also name oh bend, name of contact person and mobile phone number.
